Mount the FLEX in desired location.
Unplug your legacy system from the infrastructure that will be connected to the FLEX. Warning: the FLEX can damage legacy equipment if it is left connected. Connect AC cable and optional ground connection, turn on the FLEX. NOTE: Before you connect the existing cabling to the FLEX, you will want to make sure the ends are terminated, and you are not terminating the cabling while the switch is running. You may damage the ports on the switch or may damage the FLEX Link.
Connect FLEX downlink interfaces to the prepared RJ45 connectors from the infrastructure. Connect the NVT Phybridge FLEX GBE1 port directly to an Ethernet device. Connect the FLEX Link to the UTP connection at desired wall locations. Connect the chosen IP device to the RJ45 port on the FLEX Link. NOTE: You will want to make sure that the IP device is plugged into the RJ45 labeled “To endpoint".
If you want to set up a redundant network topology for the NVT Phybridge FLEX, please refer to the NVT Phybridge FLEX Quick Install Guide, found here.
